Macy's Department Stores
Finding your way.Macy's Department Stores launched the “reinvent” program for rebranding all of its department stores in 2002. A significant component of the program was a new interior way-finding system. This was a significant undertaking involving a wide range of visual merchandising and store design products and complex installation logistics. The first year proved to be a daunting challenge for Macy's and it did not go well. Macy's reassessed its existing partnerships and determined it needed a single-source provider to manufacture and install the new design package in 400 stores. Total Image was up to the challenge and was awarded the contract.
In 2003 we converted the retail design for 80 locations for Macy's Stores. We were able to cost effectively source all of the elements and recruit the installation talent necessary to convert all of these locations before the holiday season. At the end of this first year of rollout, Total Image provided a value analysis of the program thus far. We made several recommendations that would save both time and money as the rollout continued through 2005 and beyond.
To date, Total Image has installed literally thousands of way-finding signs and kiosks on-time and on-budget for Macy's Department Stores. Our complete turnkey approach has been credited for helping us build a strong and lasting relationship with this leading U.S. retailer.
