Enjoying significant expansion in one of America’s fastest-growing retail fields, Planet Beach Franchise Corporation selected Total Image to be their single-source partner to manufacture and install brand new image elements for all their new tanning salons.

With a goal to open an average of two new salons per week in 2005 and beyond, this would require manufacturing and inventory control across all elements. Other required services would include logistical planning, shipping and installation with trained crews all across the country, along with a few select foreign openings in the near future.

Currently, Total Image is fully immersed in permit acquisition, producing the custom store front design, store window displays, wall murals, painted steel-wall system, merchandise fixtures including the cash wrap, fabric ceiling waves, and all interior graphics. Each salon’s product completely fills a large semitrailer and is delivered directly to the front door of the store, unloaded by Total Image personnel and installed in 3-4 days. The remarkable turnaround time for each salon averages 6-8 weeks from the receipt of the store plan to the opening date of the new salon.

Initial salon results show that performance is up 15-25% over the old design. Total Image is now the exclusive partner with Planet Beach for all new salon openings, with a goal to open no fewer than 70 new salons per year. It has been a great partnership combining an aggressive franchise expansion strategy with Total Image’s holistic design/build capabilities.
